Toshiko Mori

Born in 1951 in Japan, Toshiko Mori studied at the Cooper Union School of Architecture. She then went to work for Edward Larrabee Barnes and helped design the interiors of 20 Pine Street, under Mary Barnes.

Mori founded her own practice, Toshiko Mori Architect, in 1981 and has completed many projects since then. Notable buildings include the Center for Maine Contemporary Art and the Darwin D. Martin House Visitor Center. She also teaches at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and was the first female faculty member to receive tenure there in 1995.
